Why n8n instead of Zapier or Make?
Two reasons. First, cost at volume: n8n self-hosted has no per-execution fee, and on a process running thousands of times a month the difference against per-task billing is large. Second, depth: n8n ships native LangChain integration with a dedicated AI Agent node, so agents with tools, memory and vector search live inside the same canvas as the rest of the workflow rather than in a separate product.
What does self-hosting actually require from us?
A server or container platform, somewhere to store backups, and someone who will apply upgrades. In practice that is a few hours a month. If you do not want that responsibility we will host and monitor it, or we will use n8n Cloud and accept the execution-based pricing.
