Questions

Amazon Catalog & Inventory Management, answered

Why does catalog structure matter for advertising?

Because ads inherit the catalog. A keyword cannot rank a listing filed in the wrong category, Sponsored Brands needs a brand and a Store, and variation errors split budget across children unpredictably. When reporting looks wrong, the cause is often a parentage or attribute problem rather than a bidding one.

Can a suppressed or duplicate listing be fixed?

Usually yes, though Amazon's automated checks sometimes reintroduce the problem. Suppressed listings are generally resolved by supplying the missing attribute or image that triggered them. Duplicates go through a merge case, which is a human review process and can take time.
